Advances in Field Joint Coatings Technology- Offshore and Onshore Pipelines
23-24 November, 2011

BHR Group, the independent fluid technology experts, has just run another acclaimed conference in its Pipeline Technologies series.

The event was on Field Joint Coatings and included :

• 15 papers presenting the latest technology developments and field experiences (click here to see the list of presentations)

• Free exhibition for all companies presenting

• Full scale demonstrations of latest field joint coating systems:

• A highly dynamic and interactive open forum led by recognised experts for all delegates enabling full and frank discussions on a wide range of hot topics

• Ample opportunities for networking with industrial practitioners, technical experts, and other in the pipe coatings supply chain.

In response to the wishes of past delegates, this event signalled a change in BHR's approach to its pipeline conferences, heralding the integration of high quality technical presentations with live, and often, full scale demonstrations relevant to the audience.

Field Joint keynote given by Dr Chris Fowler,
NACE president 2010-12

BHR Group runs several internationally respected technical conferences including   ‘Pipeline Protection’ which has been delivering the latest developments and innovation in internal and external pipeline coatings for the last 35 years.  This event is recognised as the premier technical conference in its field.  All papers are subject to full peer review to ensure a high level of technical excellence, and the guide to authors is that each paper presents new technology or innovative changes to existing technology.  At each conference we always encourage presentation of real life case histories to illustrate and share the problem solving that goes on constantly in the pipeline protection industry.

We realise that there are alternative events available for you but what differentiates our Pipeline Technology series it that each are subject to scrutiny of peer review.  Our customers have told us that they feel ‘short changed’ at competitors events that do not require this level of review as many papers are not much more than sales presentations and the whole event is little more than a networking opportunity.  This will never happen with BHR conferences where technical excellence is our standard.

Our background is that originally we were - The British Hydrome chanics Research Association (BHRA) based on the Cranfield University campus (the largest post-graduate engineering university in the UK).  After a management buyout in 1989 we became independent and are now BHR Group - a research and technology provider.  Our core business is the development and industrial application of new process and product technology based around expertise in fluids technology.

Our research and development projects in liquid, gas and multiph ase transportation in pipelines puts us at the forefront of many of the current and emerging challenges facing a wide range of pipeline using industrial sectors.  Whether on behalf of individual customers or leading large multi-partners collaborative projects BHR Group delivers advanced, integrated engineering solutions that give competit ive advantage built around a detailed understanding of our customers needs.

So we are much more than a conference organising or market research company.  Our aim is to deliver good value, technically excellent events, an example of which is our Pipeline Protection conference - staffed by highly experienced professional pipeline engineers who are recognised throughout the pipeline world.

Put simply, BHR PIPELINE CONFERENCES ARE RUN BY PIPELINE PEOPLE FOR PIPELINE PEOPLE

This is what our delegates had to say about the recent field Joint Coating Seminar.....

Thank you for a tremendous 2 days in Milton Keynes this week. The conference was a great success in my view and the content and demonstrations were outstanding.

Fantastic job in getting an excellent group of papers and commitment from the key field joint companies to attend the BHR conference. In talking with most of the people they indicated they attended because of your credibility and all the hard work we know you did to make this event possible.

Pipeline Technology
The 19th Pipeline Protection Conference

Our next International Pipeline Protection Conference, the 19th in this series, will take place in Edinburgh, Scotland in September 2012.  The call for papers is already out and you can get more information here

The format for this event will be similar to our recent Field Joint Coating Conference with arrangements already being put in place for major application and testing demonstrations as a integral part of the event.
The whole pipeline protection industry is in a period of rapid evolution, facing massive engineering challenges while in a climate of ever tighter budgets and shorter timescales.  This is particularly true offshore where higher temperature and deeper water projects are demanding increasingly higher and proven performance from our protection systems.

So come to Edinburgh to see and hear the very latest developments and innovative solutions being made ready to meet these challenges.
